Borussia Dortmund registered their first Bundesliga win of 2025 after they defeated Heidenheim 2-1 on Saturday. (More Football News)

In interim coach Mike Tullberg's final game in charge, Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier were on the scoresheet as Dortmund posted their first win in five games in the German top flight. 

After dominating the early exchanges, the visitors went ahead in the 33rd minute as Waldemar Anton set up Guirassy for an easy tap-in, with the Guinean striker scoring his ninth league goal of the season.  

In the first match, Haryana thrashed Rajasthan 6-1. Rohit Rana (2nd minute), Sunil Maan (11th), Sahil Ruhal (17th) and Ami Khasa (60th) scored one goal each, while Navraj Singh (7th, 37th) struck a brace for Haryana.

Substitute Beier then doubled the lead for Dortmund as he finished a cutback from Ramy Bensebaini in the 63rd minute. 

The home side responded promptly with Mathias Honsak reducing the deficit in the very next minute to set up a tense ending in Heidenheim but Dortmund held on for the win.

Former Croatia and Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac will take charge of Dortmund from Sunday.

Dortmund sit 10th with 29 points from 20 matches. Heidenheim,ff777 meanwhile, are third from bottom with 14 points.

Guirassy scored twice against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday to become the tournament's joint-top scorer, with nine goals alongside former BVB star Robert Lewandowski.

With another goal against Heidenheim, he has now struck in four consecutive Bundesliga games for Dortmund. 

Heidenheim, meanwhile, have collected only seven points from their 10 home games this season (W2, D1milyon88, L7) and are the worst team at home in the league.
